The Boman Kemp double insulated vinyl window comes equipped with a sliding sash, screen, and is lockable from the inside. It is available in white and almond color, and is also orderable in both Low-E and tempered glass.
- Low-E Glass: Treated with an invisible metallic oxide coating, these windows easily reflect UV rays that may otherwise penetrate the glass, leading to increased heat transfer. Low-E glass can reduce energy consumption, reduce color fading of fabrics, and increase the overall comfort you will experience in the basement of your home.
- Tempered Glass: This is heat-treated and is four to five times stronger than regular glass. Instead of shattering into jagged pieces when broken, tempered glass breaks into small, blunt pebbles. If your basement windows are within 36 inches of walking surfaces, near stairs, or less than 18 inches above the ground, tempered glass is the ideal choice.

Window Openings
In order to meet the IRC code, the Basement Window must not be more than 44″ up from the ground. The Basement Window opening must be at least 20″ wide and at least 24″ high, with a net clear area of 5.7 square feet. The Boman Kemp 4040 Basement Window meets and exceeds egress code with a net clear area of 7.027 square feet.
Window Wells
IRC requires the area inside the Window Well to be a minimum net clear area of 9 square feet. The Boman Kemp 4040 Basement Easy-Well™ meets and exceeds code with a net clear area of 10.27 square feet.
